What we keep, and why

Privacy policy

Dangle collects as little as it can. Here is exactly what the website and the app keep.

This policy covers the Dangle website and app, made by Niranjan, India. Questions or requests: supportdangle@gmail.com.

Visiting the website

  • We run no analytics, no ads and no tracking cookies.
  • Your browser remembers your light or dark choice and which page design you saw, in its own local storage. This never leaves your device.
  • The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) under its own privacy policy.
  • The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and reads the latest version number from GitHub, so those services see your IP address when the page loads.

Gift a charm

A gift lives entirely in its link: the charm, the names and the note are in the link itself and are not sent to or stored on our server.

Adopt a charm

When you adopt a charm we store, in our database (Turso): the charm, the name you chose, the amount, the time, and Razorpay's order and payment IDs. The name you choose is public: it is shown on the website and in the app. Payments are handled by Razorpay, which collects the details it needs to take the payment (such as your phone number, email and payment method) under Razorpay's privacy policy. We never see your card number, UPI PIN or bank login. We keep adoption and payment records for as long as the adoption is shown and as long as Indian tax and accounting rules require.

Suggest a charm

The suggestion form sends us your name, email, your idea and any picture you attach. They are stored privately so we can reply to you, and are deleted if you ask.

The Dangle app

The app collects no personal data and has no analytics. It goes online only to check for updates, from GitHub. Adopters' names are built into each version of the app, so showing them needs no connection. Gift links are read on your device and fetch nothing.

Your choices

Write to supportdangle@gmail.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to have your name taken off an adopted charm. Taking a name off frees the charm for someone else; refunds follow our refund policy.
